The words from my book begin to spin

I am submerged

hearing voices through water

my temples throb

my ears ring

I forget how to breathe

how to scream

how to beat my heart

I vomit nonsense then faint

I wake up in a sandstorm

as I began to walk

the path in front of me disappears

hours days weeks go by

I cannot find the trail home

my balance direction bearings

are lost all at once

I whisper to myself,

Words spiral

Filling time and space.

Do not try to grab them.

Instead, take a deep breath

And wait for the words to return to your page.
